| Description of the problem | Owned the car for over 1 year, noticed a pronounced smell of gasoline after filling up at a local service station. Thought it was a spill, smell got stronger over the next 10 miles, parked the car in the garage, where the smell continued to increase to the point i could smell it in the bedrooms above the garage. Took car to local mercedes specialist who removed the inspection plates under the rear passenger seats. Driver side revealed a large pooling of gasoline (approx 8 fl oz) around the fuel tank apparatus. Car is not safe to drive, and required $1100 to replace the part. |
